Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC) is a safe and effective daily-use antiseptic with antiplaque action and a substantivity of between 3 and 5 hours. It also has a broad spectrum of action against: 13,14

  • Highly safe antiseptic Daily use

  • Substantivity of 3 to 5 hours

  • Antiplaque

  • Broad spectrum of action:

  1. Different types of bacteria

  2. Fungi

  3. Some viruses

There are in vitro and in vivo studies that show CPC's virucidal and preventive activity against some viruses, including some strains of coronavirus6,7,8.

CPC has shown:

  • In in vitro studies, to have a high capacity to inactivate the Influenza virus, a virus with an envelope, a structure other viruses, such as the coronavirus have.15,16

  • In a pilot clinical trial, to possibly have a preventive effect on infections by viruses, such as influenza, rhinovirus and coronavirus.17

CPC may help to reduce the viral load of some viruses in the mouth
responsible for respiratory infections and the risk of transmission from a
carrier to a healthy person.
